The correct tone at the right time…

….that was always the slogan of Henning Hauerken, who has been responsible for the groove of Europe’s most swinging Blues band since 1996.

The upright bassist makes people groove-along, without them realizing it. This is one of Henning’s specialties by playing his Slap- and Pizzicato-style. Therefore a multi-faceted sound is very important. Henning was looking for years for a pickup, which provides him the treble as well as the bass of his upright bass, until a friend recommended to him Shadow’s new pickup SH 965 NFX.

B. B. & The Blues Shacks are considered one of the most successful representatives of the traditional Blues in Europe. Since their establishment 1989 the band was hailed by innumerable appearances in all of Europe as one the Top Acts of the Blues scene. The band was selected several times by the readers of the "BluesNews" magazine as the best Blues band. In addition the four guys received numerous honors for their albums.

With their swinging and shuffling Blues of the 40's and 50's, combined with self-compositions in the same style, they are one of the most authentic blues bands of our day.

Not least the experience as a concomitant band of many American blues artists such as R.J. Mischo, Kid Ramos or Smokey Wilson made the musicality of the 4 band members their very own expression.
