Rainer is bass player in many creative jazz bands with whom he is touring all over Europe. Since 1979, he had played on more than 30 PL/CD productions. In 1980 he received the Cultural Award of Erlangen, Germany and the Award of the German Phonoacademy. He has been the supervisor of the well-known Erlanger Jazz Workshops since 1981. Rainer worked with Artist such as Chris Beier, Leszek Zadlo, Thomas's finch, Pete York, Charly Antolini, Joe Nay, Heckstall Smith, John Etheridge, Ack van Rooyen, Bobby Burgess, Vincent Herring, Tony Lakatos, Sandy Lomax, Sandy Patton, Harriet Lewis, David Gazarov, January Jarczyk, Harald Rüschenbaum, Carola Grey and many more.
