
Bahadir Sener

Bahadir Sener was born in Istanbul on 28.10.1975. After elementary school, he was accepted to the Istanbul Technical University conservatoire at the age of 11. He took "kanun" lessons from Ihsan OZER and 10 years of enstrumental courses from known Turkish Folk Music experts such as Erol SAYAN, Nevzat ATLI, Selahattin ICLI. He graduated in 1996, and started post-graduate education in 1998 and successfully finished it in 2001.
The artist then started working with a group consisting of Turkish and German musicians, called "Sarband". He gave concerts in Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, France, Greece, England and the U.S.A. on historical Turkish music. He started working as a contractual "kanun" player at T.R.T. Istanbul Radio in 1999, and still continues this occupation.
M.Bahadir SENER, who also teaches "kanun" in Istanbul Eyup Musical Community and various other groups, started working with Omar Faruk TEKBILEK in 2001. He participated with the artist on his concerts in Turkey and abroad.
Other noteable musicians he worked with are AL BANO Emma Chaplin, Alexsandro Safina, Patr?z?o Buanne, Zülfü Livaneli, Sezen Aksu, Tarkan.
Also the musician participated in the concert of world-wide known Israeli jazz musician Jasmin LEVY's concert in Esma Sultan Residence during the 15. International Istanbul Jazz Festival.
M.Bahadir SENER, who accompanies Ferhat GOCER's musical work since 2002, also keeps his activity with the band Sarband and Omar Faruk TEKBILEK on their concerts abroad.
